AAAC-Z: Aero-Z & Azalée​

Aero-Z® is a family of compact, all-aluminium alloy conductors developed by Nexans. These conductors are designed to enhance the performance of overhead power lines by increasing ampacity (around 10%) and, as a corollary, by decreasing Joule losses. Moreover, the smooth surface enables a reduction of conductor drag coefficient. Alloy used for this type of conductor is commonly from the 6000 series, containing aluminium with small amounts of magnesium and silicon for strength and corrosion resistance.
