Training at Nexans Medium Voltage Center now certified by Vormelek vzw
Buizingen, May 12 2010 - Nexans, worldwide leader in cables and cabling systems, has recently obtained the certification of its Medium Voltage Training Center. This certification by Vormelek vzw grants a quality label to the trainings of the MVTC.
Faulty implementation of accessories causes the large majority of failures occurring on a MV network. Consequences are often not immediate but usually occur years later. “We want to share the knowledge and expertise we gathered nternally on MV networks (thanks to our installation department) with all installers/contractors. Our objective is to help guarantee safer installations”, comments Koen Van Gucht, sales manager at Nexans Benelux.
It is with this in mind that Nexans is becoming involved in setting up a Medium Voltage Training Center. The Medium Voltage Training Center aims at training the installers operating on medium voltage cable networks in Belgium. This involves strengthening their technical skills and passing on all knowledge, know-how and behaviour in order to guarantee maximum safety on a work site. Vormelek certification grants a quality label to the trainings.
Organisation of the trainings
- the content of the trainings: each training contains a practical section that follows a theoretical one consisting of an overview of the electrical phenomena and the key elements of an installation. The installer who succeeds in the final exam will get a certificate valid for two years. "The Medium Voltage Training Center (MVTC) deliberately chooses this approach: only by doing it yourself you learn to pay attention to all the essential details and to install an accessory according to the rules," as puts it Thierry Vandermotten, MVTC manager.
