The conductor is a segmented or stranded aluminium conductor class 2 according to IEC 60228 with semiconductive tape applied around. The insulation system consists of an extruded semi conducting conductor screen, insulation of extruded cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) fully bonded to a semi conducting insulation screen. Semi conducting swellable bedding, a copper screen, swellable bedding and an aluminium foil bonded to PE outer sheath are applied on the insulation system. They provide longitudinal and radial water blocking.
Optionally a Halogen Free Fire Retardant sheath or semiconductive layer on PE sheath and Fibre Optics elements in screen area for monitoring purpose can be provided.
The cable system including a full set of Nexans accessories is prequalified and type tested based on Cigre TB496.
