1977: foundation of Opticable in the Polytechnical Institute of Mons
1979: First multimode fibre cable made in Belgium installed along the SNCB Railway between Brussels North and South stations

1989: First range of Opticable LAN products
1996: Alcatel Cable becomes the majoritary shareholder of Opticable
1999: Transfer of optics activities from Fumay (F) and Hamburg (D) to Frameries
2002: Opticable proposes its own fibre range and LAN cable range Gigalite - ISO 9001 certification
2003: Start of micro blowing cable deployment in Belgium
2006 : A new Engeeneering service is created to propose passive infrastructure solutions which include cables and components.
2007 : Launching of FTTH projects in Europe and Asia.
2008 : Joint Venture with the Japanese company Sumitomo Electric Industries.
